Block Anonymous Users from Joining Meetings Unverified [CHK-1624]

This check ensures that anonymous users cannot join Microsoft Teams meetings without verification.

Rationale

Disallowing anonymous participants from automatically joining a meeting reduces the risk of meeting spamming.

Fix

An automated fix is available through Attic.

Manual steps:

  1. Navigate to Microsoft Teams Admin Center at https://admin.teams.microsoft.com
  2. Select 'Meetings'.
  3. Choose 'Meeting policies'.
  4. Navigate to 'Meeting join & lobby'.
  5. Disable the setting 'Anonymous users can join a meeting unverified'.
  6. Save the changes.

Impact

After applying this fix, anonymous users will be unable to join meetings without verification, limiting the users that can join the meeting.
