Block Anonymous Users from Starting Meetings [CHK-1623]
This check ensures that anonymous users cannot initiate meetings in Microsoft Teams.
Rationale
Meetings may contain sensitive information. By blocking anonymous users from starting meetings, the organizer can vet anyone not directly invited, preventing unscheduled meetings and enhancing security.
Fix
An automated fix is available through Attic.
Manual steps:
- Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center at https://admin.teams.microsoft.com.
- Click on 'Meetings'.
- Click on 'Meeting policies'.
- Navigate to 'Meeting join & lobby'.
- Disable the option 'Anonymous users and dial-in callers can start meeting'.
- Save the changes.
Impact
After implementing this fix, only invited users will be able to start meetings, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and unscheduled meetings.
