Authenticity Seal Validator App [CHK-1600]

The Authenticity Seal Validator App is a Teams application that enables users to validate the Authenticity Seal shown on the Microsoft 365 login screen. This seal changes monthly to prevent forgery.

Rationale

The Authenticity Seal helps users recognize the legitimate Microsoft login page. To ensure its effectiveness, the seal changes regularly and users should be able to independently validate it.

Fix

An automated fix is available through Attic. If Attic has write access to your Microsoft configuration, the fix will be suggested via an Attic ticket.

Manual steps:

  1. Navigate to Teams admin center at https://admin.teams.microsoft.com
  2. Go to Teams apps > Setup policies
  3. Click on "Global (Org-wide default)"
  4. Under "Pinned apps", click "Add apps"
  5. Search for "didsomeoneclone.me" and add it
  6. Under "Installed apps", click "Add apps"
  7. Search for "didsomeoneclone.me" and add it
  8. Click "Save"

Impact

Installing and configuring the Authenticity Seal Validator App in the global Teams app setup policy ensures that all users can independently verify the Authenticity Seal, enhancing the security of Microsoft 365 login pages.
