What security checks does Attic FIXER perform?

Attic FIXER performs more than 100 different security checks on your Microsoft 365 environment. These are based on international security standards (CIS Benchmark) and our own experiences in cybersecurity.

Examples include: checking multi-factor authentication settings, email security rules, user permissions, remote access and password policies. We automatically check all security settings several times a day.

How do the (automatic) fixes work?

You will be notified when Attic FIXER detects a security problem. This could be a fake login page, fraudulent login behavior or a problem with the security settings in your Microsoft 365 environment.

Each problem is accompanied by clear explanations and a suggested solution. If the fix can be performed automatically, you'll see a "Fix now" button. After your approval, Attic performs the fix automatically.

Do I need to give you permissions in my Microsoft 365 environment?

Yes, Attic Security requires read and limited write permissions for the Attic FIXER package. With the read permissions, we can already alert you to fake login pages, monitor login activity and identify suspicious patterns.

With the limited write permissions, we can fix weak settings for you, but only with your explicit permission for each fix.
Attic Security is registered as an approved Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) with Microsoft. We don't look at the content of your emails or documents. We only monitor login behavior. More details can be found in our privacy statement.

What exactly should the admin do after my login?

Attic Security needs read access and limited write access to your Microsoft 365 to secure it. You arrange this within a few minutes.

I don't know who the admin in the organization is. How do I find out?

Usually this is the person who:

purchased the Microsoft 365 subscription
creates and manages the new email addresses for employees
gave you your user account and password

Check with:

your supervisor or HR
the owner (at small companies)
the IT help desk (at large companies)

Check your own permissions:

Log into Microsoft 365 and see if you see the "Administrator" button in the start menu. If so, you are admin yourself and can activate security yourself.
